Monterey Lighting Success Story: Lewis Group of Companies

The family owned and operated Lewis Group of Companies owns and manages 7,495 apartment homes in Southern California, Northern California, and Nevada. A green-thinking company, Lewis quickly realized the cost-saving and environmental benefits that retrofitting its apartment communities with more efficient lighting would provide. In Southern California alone, Monterey implemented energy-efficient lighting throughout 10 Lewis apartment communities and in more than 30 areas, including carports, kitchens, restrooms, hallways, patios, dining rooms, common areas, and exterior lighting posts. By tapping Monterey to retrofit just over 1,200 units, Lewis is realizing more than $160,000 in annual savings(tenant and landlord). Plus, Monterey identified numerous other projects across several Lewis apartment communities that were eligible for potential utility rebate funds of nearly $200,000.
