Acuity Brands has announced the D-Series LED Area Size 0 luminaire from Lithonia Lighting.
“Unlike most pedestrian-scale products, the D-Series LED Area Size 0 luminaire offers an unmatched level of flexibility,” stated Eric Gibson, Lithonia Lighting Value Stream Manager.
Lithonia’s luminaire is available with 20 and 40 LED variations. There are also 11 optical distribution options.
“The ability to configure the product to meet a site’s specific needs is proof positive that small scale luminaires can produce high quality results,” Gibson continued.
The D-Series LED Area Size 0 was designed to replace metal halide fixtures with up to 400 watts. It offers between 2,900 and 13,700 lumens as well as integrated controls. This product incorporates a motion sensor switch for dimming or Roam wireless lighting control and monitoring.
For small-area lighting applications such as walkways or small parking lots, Lithonia’s new luminaire has the options for custom configuration to a site’s particular needs. Additionally, it offers 70 percent energy savings over the 400-watt metal halide fixture it replaces.
Lighting for Tomorrow is a design competition. Criteria include energy efficiency, energy efficiency marketing and improvement on design in regards to products and technologies. The competition is put together by the American Lighting Association, and has been running since 2002.
Entries in the competition included outdoor LED fixtures, fixture retrofit kits, lighting controls, replacement lamps and organic LEDs. Judges reviewed a total of 123 products from those categories.
As shown by Acuity Brands’ D-Series LED Area Size 0 and Acculamp Dimmable Par38, the company creates low voltage LED lighting products with the consumers’ needs in mind.
